It changes how the heat hits the target, letting it soak in much deeper. The power and the footprint At 2500W spread across 1260mm, this thing is a beast for linear heating. The best part? The heat is consistent. You won’t deal with those annoying hot spots that usually warp your plastic during curing or PET blowing. We wrapped the filament in high-grade quartz to keep it from oxidizing. Just a heads-up: if you’re running this at full blast, double-check your power supply. Cold starts can cause a surge, and you don’t want to trip a breaker. Why we went with the SK15 connector We use the SK15 base because it actually stays put. If you’ve used slide-in connectors, you know they tend to wiggle loose as things heat up and cool down. That’s a recipe for arcing. The SK15 locks in, giving you a solid electrical connection. It makes the whole thing a breeze to install, especially if you’re just swapping out an old carbon fiber array. A few things to watch out for Carbon fiber is fast. Like, “hits target temperature in seconds” fast. But that speed comes with a trade-off. The quartz envelope takes a bit of a beating from that sudden thermal shock. Be careful—don’t touch the tube with a wet cloth or put it in a damp spot, or the glass will snap. This setup is perfect for anyone who needs massive heat in a slim package. Just make sure your ventilation is up to the task. You’ll want to move that ambient heat away from the SK15 sockets so you don’t melt your housing.
